Generative AI for realistic hazard simulations.

Generative AI has been used in many applications such as text generation and image generation such as (chatgpt, dall-e etc.) but can they generate realistic hazard scenario maps such as landslides or flood? This question will be explored to a certain extent in this MSc research. Students will mainly explore potential generative AI models and test if we can train them with old hazard scenarios and use them to generate hazard scenarios given their pre-condition. This is a first of its kind research at ITC as well as in the field of hazard modelling and comes with a lot of challenges and you are invited to select this topic if you are interested in challenging yourself.
