Topic description

Our environment affects our health. The aim of this study is to review different sensors available for better understanding our environment and how they can be used for assessing health risks in the environment. More broadly this will be centered around our 5 senses (sight/visual, smell, noise, touch and taste).

Topic objectives and methodology

Review the literature. Explore how different sensors, including humans, are being used to monitor our environment and how these are applicable to health risks. One aspect of this research will examine the role humans and citizen science can play in sensing our environment and what this means for risk. To examine this one component of this research will explore the role of one or both of the senses (smell or noise) in more depth.
